S&C Asia Pacific Announces AU$10,000 Sponsorship of Cook Islands Rehab Organization

During the 28th annual Pacific Power Association Conference and Trade Exhibition in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, S&C Electric Company endowed AU$10,000 to local NGO Te Vaerua Rehabilitation Services. The sponsorship is part of S&Cs commitment to ongoing development in the Pacific Islands and was awarded to Te Vaerua Rehabilitation Services at the conference in early July.

Jason Lander, S&C Vice President, Asia Pacific, says supporting Te Vaerua makes an impact across the whole community. “S&C is focused on helping communities benefit from safe and reliable access to electricity. We recognize the wonderful work that Te Vaerua Rehabilitation Services is undertaking in the local community, and our sponsorship is to enable this work to continue and grow.”

Te Vaerua has two physiotherapists, an occupational therapist, and a rehabilitation assistant working to enable people with a disability to maintain mobility and independence and to improve the quality of their lives. Te Vaerua rely on generous organizations to fund their projects, equipment purchases, maintenance, and administration costs to allow them to keep offering these services to people across the Cook Islands.

S&C’s sponsorship stems from one of the company’s core values of responsible stewardship and its long-term commitment to supporting local communities.
