Circuit-Switcher Workshop

March 24 to 25, 2020 | Dallas

S&C’s one-and-½-day Circuit-Switcher Workshop will provide attendees with valuable, in-depth information and a unique hands-on experience in the installation, operation, adjustment, and maintenance of the following S&C Circuit-Switchers:

  • Type G through Mark V Circuit-Switchers
  • Series 2000 Circuit-Switchers


The workshop’s primary emphasis is on Circuit-Switchers rated 34.5 kV through 230 kV. This course will be held at S&C Electric Company, 10421 Sanden Drive, Dallas, Texas.

The Circuit-Switcher Workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25.

The registration fee for this workshop is $995 per attendee. Participation is limited to 16 attendees for this workshop.

Distribution Overcurrent Protection Coordination Workshop

April 7 to 8, 2020 | Chicago

Attendees to this S&C two-day workshop will develop a general understanding of traditional overcurrent protection of electric power distribution systems. They will learn which devices are used for overcurrent protection, how the protective devices function, and how devices are selected or are set to provide appropriate protection to the power system equipment while coordinating operation with other protective devices.

This workshop is intended for engineers and industry managers who want to learn about distribution system protection and coordination.

Distribution Automation Workshop: IntelliTeam® Automatic Restoration System

April 28 to 30, 2020 | Chicago

Attendees to this S&C three-day workshop will learn to understand the sequence of operations in IntelliTeam® II Automatic Restoration Systems and IntelliTeam® SG Automatic Restoration Systems with Rapid Self-Healing. They will also become familiar with S&C switching and protection equipment that can be integrated in IntelliTeam Automatic Restoration Systems and how to integrate third-party devices using IntelliNode™ Interface Modules.

During the workshop, attendees will learn to configure a system using IntelliLink® Setup Software and IntelliTeam® Designer, and then they will learn how to connect to devices and push the restoration settings. Participants will learn how to use optional settings for systems with capacity constraints, including contacts, and they will practice troubleshooting and event analysis from live events performed in S&C’s Product Demonstration Center.

Attendees wanting to learn more about specific devices incorporated into IntelliTeam Automatic Restoration Systems, such as IntelliRupter® PulseCloser® Fault Interrupters, should consider attending individualized product courses.

May 12 to 14, 2020 | Chicago

Learn how to connect to an IntelliRupter® fault interrupter and configure settings through valuable hands-on programing and exercises. Topics include PulseClosing® Technology; the PulseFinding™ Fault Location Technique; protection settings, including bi-directional overcurrent protection; communication settings; and more. Become versed in the hardware features and practice operating IntelliRupter fault interrupters manually and via IntelliLink® Setup Software. Upgrade the firmware on a control module. Perform troubleshooting by reviewing diagnostics, status logs, and event logs from live events performed in S&C’s Product Demonstration Center.

Attendees wanting to learn about advanced features of this product should consider attending the one-day IntelliRupter Fault Interrupter Advanced Workshop offered immediately following this course. Individuals interested in detailed training for specific applications should contact S&C to discuss custom training programs.

Distribution Automation Workshop: Advanced IntelliRupter® PulseCloser® Fault Interrupter

May 14 to 15, 2020 | Chicago

Dive deeper into the advanced features of IntelliRupter® fault interrupters, such as communication-enhanced coordination and intelligent fuse savings. Configure a loop-restoration scheme between two IntelliRupter fault interrupters. Learn the procedures for downgrading firmware. Perform more in-depth event analysis by downloading waveforms and analyzing in WaveWin software.

S&C recommends participants attend the basic IntelliRupter fault interrupter workshop before taking this advanced course. The basic course is offered immediately before the advanced course.

Participants are required to bring the following safety equipment: dielectric footwear, safety glasses, a hard hat, hearing protection, and fire-resistant clothing.

The Circuit-Switcher Workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each day at the Orangeville Stations Training facility, 125 C Line, Orangeville, Ontario, Canada, L9W 3V2.
