Speaker Biographies

Anders Sjoelin

President and Chief Executive Officer

Anders Sjoelin leads our employee-owned company in delivering innovative solutions that empower the transformation of the grid for a more resilient and sustainable energy future. He has more than 30 years of experience in the global power industry, which has given him a deep understanding of its current and future challenges. Under his leadership, S&C has seen significant growth and expanded its manufacturing capacity. He joined S&C as President and CEO in 2020.

Anders is actively engaged in U.S. power industry and manufacturing organizations. He was recently named to the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) including its Governmental Relations and Communications Committee, and on the Board of Trustees of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI). He previously served on the board of the Alliance to Save Energy.

Prior to joining S&C, Anders held numerous senior leadership positions at ABB. Most recently, he served as Country Managing Director for the United States and Head of the ABB Power Grids business in North America. His career also includes senior leadership roles across ABB’s power systems and transmission and distribution businesses in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, and Switzerland.

Anders holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration Management and Analytical Strategy from the University of Lund in Sweden and is a member of the S&C Board of Directors.

Joseph Matamoros

Chief Product Development Officer

As S&C’s Chief Product Development Officer, Joe Matamoros leads our engineering and service teams responsible for supporting current products and advancing new product development. Under his leadership, these teams work closely with customers and industry technology partners to identify challenges and to develop practical solutions to transform the grid.

Joe joined S&C in 2016. Throughout his 25-year career, he has held positions in product development, engineering, operations, and sales, focusing on transmission and distribution products and automation systems. Joe holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and chemical engineering from the Management and Technology program at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a master’s degree in Power Engineering from Arizona State University.
