White Paper: A New Fuse Saving Philosophy.

This new technical paper, presented at the DistribuTECH 2008 Conference in Tampa, FL, discusses how Intelligent Fuse Saving offers better coordination and greater reliability than conventional fuse saving techniques. A major differentiating feature of Intelligent Fuse Saving is its ability to only trip on a “fast” TCC curve when fuse saving will work, thereby eliminating the majority of momentary outages.

While most utilities use a mix of fuse-blowing and fuse-saving on different feeders, this new fuse saving philosophy achieves and intelligent mix of both practices on the same device.
