S&C Celebrates Grand Opening of New Facility in China

Just seven years after S&C Electric Company established a subsidiary in China — S&C Electric (Suzhou) Limited — the company has opened a new, dramatically expanded facility. The modern structure houses a manufacturing operation that includes a state-of-the-art production line. The new S&C facility is located in the Suzhou New District, which was also the home of the company’s original operation in China. S&C Electric (Suzhou) Limited also maintains regional sales offices in the cities of Chengdu, Tianjin, and Guangzhou.

Hosted by Chen Bo, General Manager of S&C Electric (Suzhou) Limited, the Grand Opening on June 19 featured tours of the new facility and a banquet for S&C China’s employees and guests, as well as traditional Chinese musicians and dragon dancers. Guests included S&C President & CEO John Estey, Vice President–International Operations Salvador Palafox, Director–Regional Centers Operations Jim Hart; other visitors from S&C; sales representatives and distributors in the Asia/Pacific Region; local Government officials; and representatives of the company’s customers and suppliers in China.

In his talk at the Grand Opening, John Estey emphasized that “success here in China is an important part of S&C’s plans.” He noted that the Grand Opening offered “proof of the great results that have already been achieved here.” John praised the “culture of quality, creativity, and hard work that defines S&C China” and saluted the Suzhou team for the “exciting facility that you have built . . . We look forward to great things happening here to advance S&C’s presence in China and the region and . . . to many years of prosperous operation due to your outstanding work.”

A representative of one of S&C’s largest customers in China picked up this theme in his remarks, stating that the new facility pointed to “a bright future together” for S&C, his company, and China.
