Largest Wind Farm in Ontario Delivers Power on Schedule

S&C played an important role in the construction of Ontario’s largest operating wind farm – the 189-MW Prince I & II Wind Energy Project. For this project, S&C operated under an EPC contract with Mortenson Canada Ltd. for the wind farm collector systems, and Brookfield Power for the interconnect substations, switching substation, and transmission line. Despite a challenging environment, the wind farm was completed on time and on budget. This article from North American Windpower provides an overview of the challenges of this project. S&C also offers an array of products and services for wind energy applications, including the PureWave DSTATCOM® Distributed Static Compensator – which provides dynamic reactive power compensation for renewable energy, switching and protection equipment, and an array of services.
