Power Quality—what’s your definition? Here’s S&C’s:

Power Quality

For problems on the utility system:

PureWave DSTATCOM® Distributed Static Compensator provides sub-cycle reactive current control and voltage regulation for distributed VAR support to stabilize the grid and restore voltage quickly in the event of a fault. Systems are available from 4.16 to 69 kV, in capacities from 2 to 40 MVAR, with short-term overload capability up to 325%.

Power protection for critical customers’ facilities is provided by the PureWave UPS™ System. PureWave UPS™ provides whole-facility, sub-cycle protection from power disturbances such as voltage sags, surges, transients, momentary disruptions, and complete outages. S&C has the right product for facilities from 313 kVA to 100 MVA served at low and medium voltage.

For problems on the power user’s system:

User's System

PureWave AVC Adaptive VAR Compensator provides dynamic reactive current compensation to mitigate voltage sags and dips caused by rapidly changing dynamic loads, as well as flicker mitigation and power-factor correction. Systems are available from 380 V to 34.5 kV, in capacities from 500 kVAR to 25 MVAR.
