A successful Smart Grid deployment requires the involvement of most utility departments. Each of these departments has specialized expertise but need help understanding how all the departmental pieces fit together. This two-day course provides an overview of Distribution Infrastructure, The need for System Protection and Protection Coordination, SCADA and DNP3, Data Networking (Ethernet, IP, etc.), Radio Systems, and Distribution Automation. The goal is to provide a better understanding of how these departments fit together in the Smart Grid environment, and to provide a foundation for building additional knowledge in these areas.
