Power Quality Analyses
Power quality analyses include an evaluation of the impact of voltage sags and interruptions on end-user equipment, motor-start and flicker analysis, site surveys, and inspections.
The evaluation typically results in the recommendation of a voltage sag, interruption, or flicker-mitigation device, such as a Dynamic Voltage Restorer, Uninterruptible Power Supply, Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage System, Flywheel Energy Storage System, Source-Transfer System, Static VAR Compensator, Adaptive VAR Compensator, or Distributed Static Compensator.
These studies often involve development of detailed equivalent circuits of the power system and the custom-power device under consideration for simulation using the Alternative Transients Program, which is the PC-version of the Electromagnetic Transients Program.
