Training
S&C’s field service specialists can provide extensive training to employees of electric utilities and industrial customers in the installation, operation, troubleshooting, adjustment, and maintenance of:

Training is offered in English and other languages, on-site or at S&C’s training center in Chicago, Illinois. S&C also offers customized training programs for presentation at your facility. Other training offerings include one-on-one tutorials, “train-the-trainer” programs, and skill-level options ranging from basic to advanced.
Installation Services
S&C’s field service specialists can manage the installation of your Circuit-Switchers, switchgear, overhead distribution equipment, automation systems, and power quality equipment — performing all essential testing and commissioning procedures. Installation services range from technical assistance for your crew to complete turnkey support.Equipment Commissioning
For equipment such as automated distribution switching packages and power quality systems, our field service specialists can provide the testing necessary to ensure that the system is functioning properly. Typical commissioning activities include:
- System and component inspection prior to energization
- Field adjustments
- Calibration and programming
- Equipment start-up
- System evaluation to ensure conformance to performance specification
- Communications checks, including data transfer to SCADA or facilities management systems
- As-built documentation

Inspections
Routine inspection of your electrical equipment can detect emerging problems before they escalate to the point requiring a forced outage. Some inspection procedures can be performed with the equipment energized, eliminating the need for a scheduled outage. Upon completion of the inspection, S&C will issue a report, identifying and prioritizing the maintenance recommendations. Using this report, our field crews can work with you to implement a scheduled maintenance program.

S&C can develop an Emergency Response Services Plan for you that assures dedicated resources will be available when you need them. Our field service specialists will accurately diagnose any equipment damage, makes repairs, and provide the critical support necessary to get your equipment back in service as quickly as possible. We'll provide a dedicated 1-800 number that's staffed by one of our experts at all times. No matter what the situation is, S&C will make sure the lights stay on.
