Construction

Every PureWave AVC includes these standard features:

• Rugged 11-gauge steel enclosure meeting NEMA 3R requirements. Includes comprehensive access-control features to provide security against unauthorized entry, indoors or out. S&C’s Ultradur® finish is the industry's finest.
• Power-electronic switches with overtemperature sensors, high-energy MOV surge suppressors, and thermostatically controlled fans.
• Microprocessor controller with harmonic input filter. A fiber-optic or shielded-cable link to the power-electronic switches assures immunity to noise interference.
• Custom-assembled multi-stage capacitors, with resolution matching the load profile. Each stage is fitted with a discharge resistor that dissipates stored energy after disconnection, reducing voltage across the stage to less than 50 volts in accordance with industry standards.
• De-tuning reactors or di/dt reactors and dv/dt snubber circuits, for transient voltage and current control.

The PureWave AVC can be optionally furnished with a remote diagnostics/monitoring package that provides real-time display of operating parameters, data acquisition, and troubleshooting.
