PME Pad-Mounted Gear

Introduction

The S&C Pad-Mounted Gear family consists of both “live” front and “dead” front styles. Our dead front, PME Pad-Mounted Gear, feature elbow-connected components. Switch and fuse components are enclosed and protected within an inner air-insulated steel compartment that keeps out foliage, wildlife, and contaminants. PME Pad-Mounted Gear also reduces exposure to energized live parts.

PME Pad-Mounted Gear is offered in Manual, Remote Supervisory, and Source-Transfer versions. Remote Supervisory Pad-Mounted Gear brings SCADA and distribution automation functionality to underground distribution applications. S&C’s PM Operators make automation possible and are retrofitable to nearly every unit of manual gear manufactured. Source-Transfer Pad-Mounted Gear is completely self-powered. External AC, batteries, and voltage transformers are not required. Source-transfer gear includes an isolated low-voltage compartment, a decoupling feature, and local or automatic electrical operation.
