IntelliTEAM II® Automatic Restoration System
IntelliTEAM II Compatible Controls
IntelliTEAM II can handle a virtually unlimited number of controls. IntelliTEAM II works with:
IntelliTEAM II Universal Interface Module.
The IntelliTEAM II Universal Interface Module enables substation relays and breakers to operate as part of the IntelliTEAM II Automatic Restoration System, helping to further minimize the impact of an outage. Interfaced with the substation microprocessor relay, the UIM provides full team-member logic and communication capabilities. The UIM allows IntelliTEAM II logic, after the loss of substation bus voltage, to restore power to the line segment between the substation breaker and the first switch. The UIM can also allow an additional reclose attempt, if desired, and still restore all unfaulted line sections.
The Universal Interface Module adds IntelliTEAM II functionality to the fault-interrupting decisions made by the relay. The UIM exchanges information with the other team members as needed and polls the relay for status and analog data, which are used for the IntelliTEAM II process. If a fault interruption or loss of source occurs, the UIM provides the interface to, and operates, the substation relay/breaker to restore as many feeder segments as possible.
The UIM can be rack-mounted (19" wide and 3 spaces high), or can be panel mounted inside most relay enclosures. It communicates with the relay through a DB-9 connector. Data (including alarm and team status) is shown on a 2-line display. The tactile-feedback membrane switches allow easy scrolling through the IntelliTEAM II information.
Programming, setpoints, and logged data are stored in permanent, non-volatile memory. The crystal-controlled clock accurately time stamps data. The UIM has three communications ports: one for team communications, one to communicate with the relay, and a DB-9 faceplate connector for local monitoring and configuration. The local data port allows you to connect your computer to the UIM and change setpoints or upload logged data using the user-friendly IntelliLINK® Setup Software. The control software in the UIM can also be updated, offering a simple migration path to new features.
The UIM uses DNP protocol for peer-to-peer communications with IntelliTEAM II system team members and for communication between the UIM and a SCADA master station.
