Fuse Hoists
The SMD Fuse Hoist permits one person to remove and replace fuses units for Vertical 180° Opening Style and Inverted 90° Opening Style Types SMD-1A, -2B, -2C, and -3 Power Fuses.
The SMD Fuse Hoist features a pulley assembly with a large eye, which is engaged in a hook on the fuse mounting. After the pulley assembly has been hung, the prong is removed and lowered to the ground, where it is inserted into the lifting eye of the fuse unit. Using the hoist line and the pole, the fuse unit is then lifted and guided into the hinge of the fuse mounting.
After the fuse hoist has been removed from the hook on the fuse mounting, the fuse unit can be closed using a station prong. The process is reversed to remove the fuse unit.
SMD Fuse Hoist in Use
Hoist Fuse Unit. The operator uses the integral prong on the fuse hoist to lift and install the pulley assembly on the mounting hook, and then, by use of the hoist-line and the pole, elevates and guides the fuse unit into the hinge on the fuse mounting.
Remove Pulley Assembly. With the fuse unit securely in the hinge, the operator uses the integral prong on the fuse hoist to lift and remove the pulley assembly from the mounting hook.
Close Fuse. The operator uses a station prong to swing the SMD Fuse unit to the fully closed position.
