Small Round Socket

The Small Round Socket is specifically designed for handling SMD-1A Fuse Units in ratings through 69 kV. It incorporates features that make replacement of these fuse units simple and convenient from the ground.

The socket is attached to a universal pole of the correct length for the particular installation. The fuse unit is then inserted in the socket, where it is securely held, effectively becoming part of the pole . . . there’s no cantilever loading to contend with, and the fuse unit can't jiggle or fall out.

Once the fuse unit is seated in the hinge on the fuse mounting, the socket is easily disengaged from the fuse unit. Next, a pole extension is attached to the universal pole. Then, using the prong on the socket to engage the pull ring, the fuse unit is swung upward to the fully closed position.

Removal of a fuse unit is easy too, following the reverse of the procedure outlined above.
