Construction Detail

1. Birdproof-design insulator — higher insulation characteristics than ANSI distribution-cutout standards. NEMA Type B and extended mounting brackets available.
2. Parallel-groove connector — tin-plated cast red brass. For ease of connection, accommodates two conductors, even of unlike size. Other styles of connectors are also available.
3. Fuse-tube cap
4. Dropout mechanism provides dropout indication of operation
5. Attachment hooks for Loadbuster guide fuse tube during closing
6. Trunnion
7. Backup limiter — replaced after a high-magnitude fault-clearing operation
8. Spring-and-cable assembly — stainless-steel spring provides high-speed elongation of arc when fuse cartridge operates. Copper cable inside spring carries load (and fault) current
9. Fuse cartridge — replaced after a fault-clearing operation
